About
Where My Story Began
You know, some experiences just stick with you, shaping who you are from a young age.
For me, that was falling head over heels in love with African wildlife. Growing up in South Africa, our family trips to Kruger National Park were just the beginning. Soon, we were exploring places like Botswana and Namibia, and every journey felt like something magical.
I can still hear it all: the eerie whoop of a hyena at night, the distant roar of a lion, the morning symphony of bird calls. And finding lions on a fresh kill? That always made the trip unforgettable.
Being out in the bush felt completely natural, like I was exactly where I was meant to be. The sights, the sounds, the energy of the wild… it shaped me. And that passion? It’s still with me, stronger than ever.

From Bush Lover to Field Guide
My deep love for Africa didn’t just stay a childhood obsession; it grew into a purpose. That passion led me to study and eventually become a qualified field guide, fully immersing myself in the bush.
I learned how to read tracks in the sand, identify birds by their calls, understand animal behavior, and appreciate the delicate balance that makes African ecosystems thrive. It wasn’t just about spotting wildlife — it was about understanding it.
Through my training, I developed a deeper respect for conservation and began to see how every animal, bird, and element of bush life is connected in perfect balance.
Why I Share Africa With the World
I’m deeply passionate about Africa, its wildlife, its wild spaces, and the stories that unfold out in the bush. That’s why I created Wild Africa Sightings, a platform where I can share this love through blogging, YouTube, and Instagram.
From incredible animal behavior and unforgettable sightings to African conservation efforts and travel-worthy places most people have never heard of, this is my way of bringing the soul of Africa to people everywhere.
Whether it’s the thrill of a buffalo herd, a thousand strong, stampeding past on foot, the stillness of a waterhole at dusk, or the magic of a remote safari lodge, I want others to experience the depth, richness, and beauty of Africa just like I have.
